Staff Content Designer by day, Margo Stern has written two books on work in these modern times.

Good Job: Designing Interviews and Interviewing in Design gives advice and a perspective on hiring and getting hired. A two-sided book, it considers the hiring process both from the side of a candidate and from a hiring manager.

Good Work: Managing Management and Managing Yourself continues with insights, tips and tricks for all the things no one tells you about working. Influence, growth, building relationships, and a lot more. Another two-sided book: one for managers and the other for individual contributors. (On sale January 2027).

Margo is currently a Senior Staff Content Designer at Lyft and Adjunct Professor at California College of the Arts.

Past experience includes leading teams at Peloton. Twitter and Messenger, plus working on Trust & Safety at Meta. She also was one of the earliest Content Strategists at Google, with a focus on Maps, Commerce, and Wallet.

Margo lives in San Francisco.
